From Sept. 26 - Sept. 29, 2023, more than 1,100 participants attended the Unified
International Technical Conference on Refractories ⟮UNITECR⟯ in Frankfurt, Germany. With the purchase of the ticket, the conference proceedings with 894 pages were also included. All 219 lectures on the main topic “The Carbon Challenge” are presented inside. All authors, topics, graphics and tables, literature overviews and much more are arranged according to the nine topics of responsibility of the scientific congress.
The refractory industry used this conference to hear the current state of technology and discuss it with the speakers and other participants. This exchange of knowledge is valuable so that the industry's upcoming tasks in production and application can be further developed and implemented. For everyone who was unable to attend the conference, the conference proceedings are now available till the end of November at a price of 50 euros (including VAT). After payment in the Tentary shop system, a link to download the conference proceedings (330 Mb) will be sent.

Die Deutsche Feuerfest-Industrie ist weltweit führend in der Produktqualität und in der Anwendungstechnik von Hochtemperaturprozessen wie bei der Herstellung von Stahl, Zement oder Glas.
Mit ganzheitlichen Systemlösungen können die aktuellen Entwicklungen in den Kundenindustrien hinsichtlich Energiereduzierung oder -umstellung sowie bei besonderen Transformationsprozessen nachhaltig unterstützt werden.

Zukunftssicherung der Branche
Mit diesem Blick auf die Zukunftssicherung der Branche unterstützt die deutsche Feuerfestbranche als Industriepartner den Aufbau einer Tandem-Professur für das Fachgebiet Feuerungsbau („Refractory Engineering“) an der Hochschule Koblenz.
Auf die Professur wird Herr Dr. Amin El Gammal zum 1.9.2022 berufen, der zuletzt in leitender Position im Bereich des Feuerungsbaus bei der Georgsmarienhütte GmbH tätig war.
Forschungsfelder
Aus der Lehrtätigkeit werden sich zudem Forschungsfelder in den Grenzbereichen zwischen feuerfesten Werkstoffen und Feuerungsbau sowie zwischen Bauingenieurwesen und Feuerungsbau öffnen. Damit werden die Grundlagen für Forschungskooperationen zwischen Hochschulen und Unternehmen entwickelt und die Innovationstätigkeit der deutschen Industrie im Bereich Feuerungsbau stimuliert.


Verknüpfung zur Praxis
Für den Aufbau und die Entwicklung der Tandem-Professur und für die Verknüpfung zur Praxis werden Unternehmen der Feuerfest-Industrie und des Feuerungsbaus eingebunden. So werde sichergestellt, dass die Partnerschaft von Herstellern und Verarbeitern feuerfester Werkstoffe gefestigt wird und die richtigen Lösungsvorschläge für die Anforderungen der Kunden in Zeiten der grünen Transformation gemeinsam gefunden werden.
